Through collaboration and partnerships, the Belle Vue Conservancy has been dedicated to raising one million dollars for Phase 1 of restoration to secure; a new roof, windows, gutters and foundation work. These core repairs are of absolute urgency in order to stabilize the house after years of severe neglect. The Town, as owner of the property, is responsible for repairs to the interior of the house and grounds although we do help out with occasional volunteer yard cleanups.
The roof was completed in 2019 and we are now concentrating on windows to be installed once the building is occupied.  We have focused on raising money through assigning naming rights to windows of the Belle Vue house, including memorial windows, until such time as large gatherings are permitted for fundraising events.

On July 15 and 16, 2017, members of the Belle Vue Conservancy, concerned citizens and the
Amherstburg Fort Malden Horticultural Society banded together and armed with clippers,
shovels and other gardening implements reclaimed the grounds of Belle Vue. This labour of love
transformed the long-neglected historic site to one of hope and new beginnings.
The Belle Vue Conservancy extends its sincerest gratitude to our generous donors for their extraordinary commitment and financial support. The gifts made by individuals, corporations and foundations make a significant impact on restoration efforts that are underway.
With your generosity, we will open Belle Vue’s doors again! THANK YOU!

A director and founding member of the Conservancy, was instrumental in writing our operating guidelines and in leveraging support for many of our initiatives. A kind, generous man with an ironic sense of humour and dry wit, he dearly loved Belle Vue for her history and promising future. A fund is dedicated to the purchase of a window in his memory.
